Rosemary has worked for a wide range of clients, across all market sectors. They include:
Ove Arup Partnership, (Arup), were developing an extranet to help project management by facilitating the transparency, accountability and control of activities and documentation, and to reduce the very large amounts of paper work that are used on construction sites.
Rosemary reviewed the user interface with reference to the business objectives, the target users and their business tasks, usability principles and user interface standards and conventions. She provided Arup with recommendations for changes that would improve the usability of the site.
Barclays continuing improvement of Electronic Banking services involved the definition and implementation of a strategy for providing usability input to their IT development.
Rosemary constructed a Usability Framework for use within the Barclays environment. She worked closely with the product teams: producing style guides for PC-based and Internet-based applications: providing advice on the design of early prototypes and conducting Usability Specialist Reviews. She conducted several Usability Evaluations, including focus groups, surveys and user-based assessments of the services. She continued to provide on-going support to the Business Assurance Manager in customer liaison and business testing over a period of 18 months.
The British Library had undertaken a major programme of work to procure a new corporate bibliography system to replace a number of existing legacy systems. Change Requests to the new system implied additional costs and/or delays to the implementation. Rosemary conducted an investigation to identify possible options to reduce this impact.
She interviewed both users and developers to obtain the key requirements of cataloguing and Authority Control, independent of the processes currently used to meet these goals. In addition, Rosemary conducted a brief usability expert evaluation of the new system. She presented the results and recommendations to the project steering group.
